DO YOU KNOW WHAT AN ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERTER IS AND HOW IT WORKS?

Let’s talk about ADC and how it works. In order to understand this, is important for you to identify all kind of signals you are exposed to every day of your life. Please pay attention to the following information. There are a lot of signals in the real work that could be, or need to – depending of what you want or your intention- re-interpreted by a hardware. The way we scan a photograph is a very well example.. Are you getting it?

LET’S EXPLAIN SOME EXAMPLES OF ANALOG TO DIGITAL CONVERTION

As you may know, there are a lot of peripherals and instruments capable to transform digital data into analog one. But the most common thing now is to apply the ADC so we can have anything we want without using physical space while saving lots of albums, books, photographs and so many other things.

How an ADC works?

We could say our lives are now depending on digital data. And we are not just talking about computers, images and music. The ADC has been important through the years that now seems impossible to work without digital information. Looks like every company or business in the world fully depend of digital instruments in order to keep running their operations and activities. Even the world of entertainment is fully changing. Now downloading a videogame is easier for software companies to decrease their investments and increase their incomes. Movie world has changed forever.

You can now watch full HD videos just through your computer or smartphones, without needing to buy a big peripheral that you should connect to your TV. In fact, there are some artifacts capable to transform video analog signals from, for example, a VHS player, and transform it to a digital file. This way you will be able to free any physical space in your home, and put lots of pf video cassettes into a hard disc, a micro sd memory, or a smartphone.

When we use a scanner to bring a photograph to the screen of our computer, what we are really doing is to take a signal from the real world (on this case the signal itself is the light) and decoding it through a hardware, which will give us and interpretation of it as a digital one. One of the most common things in our daily lives is also to listen to mp3, mp4, wav archives through our computers or music players.

The truth about these dispositive is that they in fact are capable of reading a digital interpretation of an analog one, which in this case, is sound. This way, a real signal like sound has been decoded through a software into a digital one, so digital reading instruments can interpret it.

At this point, there is no doubt that our lives have changed forever, and to understand it without any of this things which help to make any task easier is impossible at this point. Once you have understood that, sure you will never see the world the way you were seeing it before.
